Brooklyn Bridge

It was Christmas Day so we thought we would do something that we would remember for the rest of our lives. What better way than to walk across one of the most famous bridges in the world.

When we arrived we saw that we were not the only ones who had this idea.

The statue of liberty rises in the distance.

Once we looked past the apartment building, we could see the Empire State building rise above the rest.

Downtown Manhattan off the East River.

We made it across!

As you can see, even Christmas is busy in NYC.

City Hall

Lines of people coming and going to the Bridge from the Manhattan side.

We decided to take a detour and find the ferry for the Statue of Liberty.

This was a tribute to the immigrants that have come across Ellis Island.

Lady Liberty. Soon we will see her up close.

Construction on World Trade Center is progressing.

Statue of men using teamwork to pull a fallen comrade out of the water.

Darkness falls across the Manhattan skyline.

I especially like the reflection off the water.

Cars race toward Brooklyn.

Brooklyn skyline.

Welcome to Brooklyn.

Jenn caught me staring back at the Manhattan skyline. I was thinking how fortunate we were to be having this opportunity.

I climbed on top of a wall to get this one.

Hope you enjoyed our trip across the Brooklyn Bridge and back. I know we did! You may have noticed there was no snow for Christmas. Would we get our first New York snow before the New Year?
